The Solent Gym

Do I need an induction to use the gym?
We offer a free induction to all our gym members. However, if you are an experienced gym user, you don't have to have an induction. Just let the reception staff know.

I’m an experienced gym user but haven’t seen some of this equipment before!
Our friendly gym staff are always on hand – please just ask.

Can only Solent staff and students use the gym? 
Our Solent Gym welcomes members of the public as well as Solent staff and students.

Are there showers and changing facilities?
Yes, every level of the Solent Sports Complex has toilets, changing rooms and showers, for teams, and for individual use. 

Do you supply paper towels to wipe down equipment? 
Yes, we do and we ask every member to be responsible for cleaning the equipment they have just used before moving onto the next piece. 

Is there Wi-Fi available within the gym?
Wi-Fi is available throughout the Sports Complex. You can also connect your personal handheld device to our CV equipment using your own USB cable. 

Is personal training available?
Personal trainers are available as an additional service to help you with your fitness goals. Please speak to our gym or reception staff. 

Fitness classes

What fitness classes do you run? 
You can find a list of our fitness classes here.

Are the fitness classes taught by students? 
Currently our classes are taught by professionals – this may include some of our qualified students. There will be the option for our students to run classes as part of their courses in the future. 

How do I book on to a fitness class?
You can use our app to book on to a class. You’ll need to have a classes membership, or be registered and then pay when you book. Find your membership here.

How often are the timetables updated for fitness classes? 
We will review our timetables on a regular basis to ensure they meet the needs of our customers. 

How can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel or reschedule your classes booking on our app. More details on cancellations can be found in our terms and conditions.

Monday - Friday 6.30am to 10.30pm

Weekends and public holidays 9am to 8pm

Peak memberships can be used at any time

Off-peak memberships can be used:

Weekdays before 4pm

Weekends after 4pm
