Find out about the sports halls at the Solent Sports Complex

Our sports halls offer athletes and enthusiasts of all levels the opportunity to play their sport in a top-class environment.

Multi-purpose sports hall

The multi-purpose sports hall can be used for a number of different sports:

  • Basketball: 1 match court or 2 practice courts.
  • Futsal: 1 court with electronic wall-mounted goals.
  • Badminton: 4 courts.
  • Netball: 1 court.
  • Wheelchair rugby: 1 court.
  • Volleyball: 1 match court or 2 practice courts.

The hall was also built with:

  • Team scoreboard at either end of the hall.
  • FIBA Level 2 Dynamic Helsinki sprung wooden floor.

High performance sports hall

Our high performance sports hall was built with our Team Solent Kestrels in mind. It will be where they play their home games, train and work with their partners.

The hall consists of:

  • Match court and two training areas with two practice backboards.
  • FIBA Level 2 Dynamic Helsinki sprung wooden floor.
  • High-specification basketball scoring technology including scoreboard, shot clocks, and backboards with hoop cams at either end of the court.
  • Capacity for 450 spectators.
  • An industry standard media suite for our media technology students to film the games.
  • And on game days, Franky Swanks hotdogs will be available!
